Handmade Flowers from Paper and Fabric (A David & Charles Craft Book) Reviews
I have three other books on making paper flowers and I think this is the best of the three. Each flower has detailed pictorial instructions , full size templates and a full page photo of each finished flower. These authors make their flowers using Handmade paper, crepe paper or fabric which are the materials I prefer using rather than tissue paper . They have tips on coloring and other techniques as well as a unique method of crinkling the petals to give them realistic lines and appearance. I would recommend this book to a beginner as well as a more advanced paper flower artist
Lots of patterns but what i like most is the detailed illustrated instructions for everything--especially lists of things that you can use, and making leaves, etc.
This book exceeded what i thought was inside. I truly love this book. I will recommend this book to my craft club.
Very informative book and I am looking forward to trying my hand at making many of them. I bought it because I am particularly interested in the fabric flowers to use in my millinery work. The silk flowers you buy at the craft stores generally look a little cheap if you try to use them for trimming. The plastic parts really bring down the aesthetic and value. Overall, I think that any knowledge and good information one can in this area is important. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in flower construction.
I have not made any of the flowers in this book as yet, but it is full of very good information. Wonderful illustrations, techniques that could be applied to any flower making. Great information book for anyone into making flowers. A lot is done, in fact all, in fabric or handmade paper is the reason I haven't tried any. Of course, they tell you, you can use other material, such as crepe paper. So may give some a try. Worth the buy just to have in your library of flower making books.
Detailed instructions, lots of color photos, and great patterns to follow. This is THE book for making paper flowers that look realistic. I highly recommend this book.
These flowers, made with paper, look almost real!
